About Uncle Ricky’s Bible

Howdy. I’m Richard. Everybody called me Ricky when I was a boy — right up until I was about ten years old, when we moved to another state and I started introducing myself as Richard. “Uncle Ricky’s Bible” is a nod to those days, and to the family I come from: my granddaddy, John David, was a preacher, and so was my Uncle David. I grew up around the Word.

When I was born, my granddaddy said I would become a preacher one day — and another preacher who saw me as a newborn said the same thing. In my granddaddy’s honor, I became an ordained minister myself.

This is a free Bible publication. Everything here costs nothing. These days a lot of apps and websites hand you the basics for free and then charge you for the good stuff. We don’t do that here. The good stuff is free too.

Here’s what you’ll find. We go through the Bible one chapter a day, Genesis to Revelation — read the chapter, then talk it over, straight from the King James Bible. There’s a daily devotion, Bible studies that dig deeper, Sunday sermons, and a little bit of everything else: stories, humor, and things worth thinking about. My roots run from Baptist to Pentecostal, and I stick to the ground we all share.

And here’s my promise: this won’t be dull. Reading and studying the Bible doesn’t have to feel like homework, some dry chore you slog through out of obligation. It can be interesting. It can even be fun. That’s the whole idea — getting familiar with your Bible and having a good time doing it.
